I’ve been sitting with your post quietly because it resonated so deeply—especially the part about leaving the Q of Wands behind to start your own empire. I agree this reading could apply to so many of us trying to carve a path. I’m a new writer here, still forming my voice as I build my own empire. There are loud, annoying voices on Substack and across the internet saying how one should do this, how to attract all the people and market and blah blah. There’s a trap of being the Q of wands—warm and inviting and palatable to attract people. Eventually that won’t work. In my own intention setting for next year I wrote down “fierce courage.” After sitting with your post, what occurred to me my courageous work is to DELIGHT myself with my writing, promote myself the way I want to, and be confident that delight and pride will be the draw. Thank you for this writing, I follow along with you quite a bit and love your work.
Beautiful intentions! To delight yourself… feels very 9 of cups-ish. Putting yourself first. This is another lesson I learned this year. To focus on my 9 cups cuz that’s the only way I’ll be able to build my empire.
And yes, there was many loud and annoying voices on Substack and other platforms saying how to do things. I learned to simply do me. I’m always a sure bet.
I encourage you to do the same. DO YOU. Delight yourself first, and people will find you.
I've had a natural gift of writing since I was a child. I was the type to finish reading a book and write my personal continuations because I didn't want the stories to end. I just celebrated my 40th Birthday last month, and I am in a position to do the things I've always wanted but was too afraid to make happen. I am new to Substack, and I am grateful to be introduced to a platform where I can fully embrace my writing abilities.
I love that, and did the same. Especially if I didn’t like the ending lol. Happy belated birthday, and I’m happy to help in any way I can. To start, what kind of writing do you want to do (or are doing)? Are you focused on book writing or something else? If you’re writing fiction, there a lot of people on here using Substack to serialize their novels.
Currently, I am getting myself back into the habit of short stories and essays now I have the time to focus on writing. My ultimate goal is to write erotic books that will help expand my thoughts, tips and ideas on improving intimacy. I want to turn my passion into a career that I love, so I am open to ALL suggesstions to make my dreams come true.
Ooo… I adore short stories. I’ve had a few clients with short story collections. I haven’t written much about them as the structure is different from novels. Hmm…
I went into 2025 without a word for the first time in years. Nothing came to me after weeks of reflection and meditation. I didn’t stress. Just carried on.
When I realized a few days ago my word for 2026 was sovereignty, that’s when I also realized (at the same time, mind you) my word for 2025 was alignment.
I had to get in alignment in order to be sovereign.
I love how that worked out and that you realized your word. Funny thing, my word in 2023 was Alignment.
Last year and into this year, my word was Unbecoming. Learning how to unlearn or unbecome the things others told me I was. I could swear I picked a secondary word for 2025, but for the life of me I don't remember or seem to have it written in my notebook. If I did, I'm sure I wrote it somewhere.
Beautiful share sis. Love your word for 2026. 🙌🏾👌🏾

Love this!! There were definitely some messages speaking directly to me.
Ooo! Do share if you feel called to. No pressure lol!
And nice to meet you! Thea let me know you’re starting your writing journey. Let me know how I can help 🖤

*adds to brain dump for teaching ideas*
This has one of my words since 2022. When I feel like a word and I aren't done yet, I carry it forward to the next year(s) until I feel like we are.
Sovereignty and Sacred have been with me for a few years now, Sacred since 2019.
I'm still trying to find my 2026 word.
